Job Description


The Sales Manager is responsible for driving new business growth and expanding existing client relationships. This role leads sales strategy, manages day-to-day sales activity, and works closely with recruiting and operations to deliver customized solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on sales leader who understands the local market, values long-term partnerships, and thrives in a relationship-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire staffing accounts
  • Prospect and secure new clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, and community engagement
  • Conduct client meetings to assess workforce needs and propose tailored staffing solutions
  • Negotiate pricing, service agreements, and contract terms
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets

Account Management
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key accounts
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively resolve service issues
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead, coach, and motivate sales staff 
  • Collaborate closely with recruiters to ensure client expectations are met
  • Provide market feedback to leadership regarding client trends, pricing, and competitor activity

Market & Community Engagement
  • Represent the agency at local networking events, job fairs, and chamber or industry meetings
  • Maintain strong knowledge of local labor market conditions and industry trends
  • Promote the agency’s brand and reputation within the community

Reporting & Administration
  • Track sales activity, pipeline, and performance metrics
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for ownership/leadership
  • Maintain accurate CRM and client documentation

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in staffing, recruiting, or B2B services
  • Prior leadership or sales management experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of staffing models (temporary, temp-to-hire, direct hire) preferred
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
